Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia will lead the kick-off ceremony for the Christmas celebration at the Bacolod City Government Center at 6:30 p.m. today.
City officials and employees, together with their guests, will join the mayor in a ceremony involving the switch-on of christmas flowers japan lights strung around the Bacolod City Government Center, livening it up for the season, a press release from City Hall said.
Leonardia is expected to announce his plan this year to make the Government Center as a venue for Bacoleños to celebrate christmas flowers japan blogs and New Year together and he is inviting the public to join in these celebrations, the release said.
The mayor also said there will be another switch-on ceremony at the Public Plaza on December 16, the day that ushers in the Misa de Gallo masses, it added.
Meanwhile, Leonardia extended through the Japanese ambassador the felicitations of the people of Bacolod for the people of Japan on the birthday of their emperor, at the reception for his birthday at the official residence of the Ambassador in Forbes Park, Makati Tuesday.
He extended again his thanks to the Ambassador for his visit to the Bacolod City Government Center.
Leonardia was the only mayor in the gathering of foreign diplomats and dignitaries, national officials and businessmen.*
